Locale in Astoria
Last Friday, I enjoyed an amazing dinner with Tamar, the ever-so-sweet and ambitious owner of Sitka Creations, a company I have been working for for some time now. We dined, dished and drank at Locale, a lovely little restaurant on 33rd street and 34th ave. Below are a few snapshots of our night. Cheers. [The Bruschetta Trio appetizer] [The delicious olive oil, perfect for dipping] [Tamar...

Asian Fusion in Glen Cove
Last week we tried out the new Asian restaurant in Glen Cove. The sushi was delicious and the presentation was delightful. The menu was extremely broad with a variety of fun and unique sushi rolls, as well as a slew of Thai and Chinese food options. An added bonus, if you go now, you get 20% off your dinner check. Chopsticks Unite! [A “Dinosaur Egg” - Lobster Salad encased in sliced...

Saturday Morning Breakfast
There’s nothing quite like waking up early on a Saturday and getting someone to make you crepes. We enjoyed a nice breakfast with crepes and homemade raspberry/apricot jam. I can not think of a better way to kick off the weekend. Cheers.

Shrimp Pad Thai
This is the shrimp pad thai I ordered last night at Galangal in Syosset. I love the way the egg created a netting over the mountain of noodles and I loved that the bean sprouts came in a shot glass. Perfect meal.

Wrist Candy Wednesday
I stumbled upon this Australia-based company, Wanderlust & Co on one of my daily internet scavenges. I’m digging the colors and metal accents. Some wrist candy on the barbie.

Oyster Fest 2011
Last weekend I attended The Oyster Fest in Oyster Bay, New York. A tradition for anyone from the Oyster Bay area plus 200,000 thousand other individuals. I look forward to this every year, mostly because of the food and of course, the oysters. Xx, Cheers. Reminiscent of Oysters Past Pulled Pork Sandwiches On the last day of the Fest, clean up time.

Recipe Mondays - Fried Leek Rings
Last week, I sent my father to the super market to grab some Kale so I can attempt to make Kale Chips. Not knowing what it was, he asked an employee to point him in the right direction. Unknowingly to the associate, he pointed my father to a few stalks of Leek thus creating, an awesome mistake. That night, I was already making baked tilapia, roasted red potatoes w/ rosemary and steamed brocolli...

Whole Wheat Pita Pizzas
The other night, I got together with a friend (and a bottle of Pinot Noir) and created some delicious and wholesome Pita Pizzas on whole wheat pita bread. It was probably the best homemade pizza I ever made(not to mention almost guilt-free). The pita came out crispy opposed to soggy. I started with whole wheat pita and baked them on a flat cookie sheet on the lowest shelf in the oven for 5...

Polka Dots
The polka dot trend for Fall is a hit or miss with me. Every single fashion magazine and website I have glanced at recently are showing polka dots as the go-to print for Fall. I always try to be on-trend so I borrowed this shirt [Jones New York] from my sister who found it at a thrift store. I added pictures of some other “wallet-friendly” polka dot garments that I think I could...

It's been a while...
I woke up this morning feeling quite inspired to start blogging again.  This Indian summer is getting me down as I am looking forward to breaking out my chunky knits, colored denim and riding boots. Instead of being down about the summer ending, I am trying to focus on making this Fall and Winter the best yet. Fall plans include apple picking, fall wardrobe shopping, a foliage-spotting road trip...

Dining with the Vodka King.
Here are the pictures are from the dinner party I worked last Thursday for the brand manager of Smirnoff. The dinner party took place at this beautiful home the family was renting in Edgartown. The guest list was small and the party was intimate, quite the opposite from the Smirnoff event with Bobbi Brown. The food catered by Jaime Hamlin was exquisite and the floral arrangements crafted by Ellen...

CB&ME Trunk Show
Here are some pictures from the CB&ME Trunk Show at Boston Jean Company in Edgartown. Jill and I were pumped to be in charge of planning the Trunk Show and we brought on Whitney to our power team to design an amazing flyer and help work the event. We collaborated with Megan & Carey from CB&ME and Kate and Susan from Boston Jean Company to put on BJC’s first trunk show. Megan...

The Curious Case of Bobby Brown
“I don’t ride in Limos” “I have my speedo on, where are the women at?!” Just a few of the first statements out of Bobby Browns mouth as soon as he arrived on Martha’s Vineyard. Thursday night was the much anticipated Smirnoff/GTM event with Heads of State as the talent. I have spent most of my time at Vineyard Coach & Concierge planning this one event and...
