Locale in Astoria
Last Friday, I enjoyed an amazing dinner with Tamar, the ever-so-sweet and ambitious owner of Sitka Creations, a company I have been working for for some time now. Asian Fusion in Glen Cove
Last week we tried out the new Asian restaurant in Glen Cove. The sushi was delicious and the presentation was delightful. The menu was extremely broad with a variety of fun and unique sushi rolls, as well as a slew of Thai and Chinese food options. An added bonus, if you go now, you get 20% off your dinner check. Saturday Morning Breakfast
There’s nothing quite like waking up early on a Saturday and getting someone to make you crepes. We enjoyed a nice breakfast with crepes and homemade raspberry/apricot jam. I can not think of a better way to kick off the weekend.

Shrimp Pad Thai
This is the shrimp pad thai I ordered last night at Galangal in Syosset. I love the way the egg created a netting over the mountain of noodles and I loved that the bean sprouts came in a shot glass. Perfect meal.

Oyster Fest 2011
Last weekend I attended The Oyster Fest in Oyster Bay, New York. A tradition for anyone from the Oyster Bay area plus 200,000 thousand other individuals. I look forward to this every year, mostly because of the food and of course, the oysters.

Last week, I sent my father to the super market to grab some Kale so I can attempt to make Kale Chips. Not knowing what it was, he asked an employee to point him in the right direction. Unknowingly to the associate, he pointed my father to a few stalks of Leek thus creating, an awesome mistake.

Whole Wheat Pita Pizzas
The other night, I got together with a friend (and a bottle of Pinot Noir) and created some delicious and wholesome Pita Pizzas on whole wheat pita bread. It was probably the best homemade pizza I ever made(not to mention almost guilt-free). The pita came out crispy opposed to soggy.
